Relationship between Gender and Religion in Post-Communist Countries

Currently the researchers of the project “Religion and Gender Equality: Developments in Societies of Baltic and Nordic Countries” are examining how gender and religion are studied in post-communist societies, with particular attention to gender equality as a shifting concept and its developments in Baltic and Nordic countries.

The project explores the conceptualizations of gender equality and its perception in the Baltic and Nordic societies with a focus on national and regional socio-historical contexts and processes, such as the transition from an industrial to a post-industrial society, and from a socialist to a post-socialist society.

On 28 May, a seminar on this topic, How do we study gender and religion in diverse social contexts?, will be held.
